Mother Gothel from Tangled

Mother Gothel is an evil something or other in the Disney movie Tangled. I'm not sure what she's supposed to be in the movie. It's a modern update of the Rapunzel fairy tale.

I've had this doll for awhile. I bought it  from a small toy store that was going out of business. This was the only doll they had that I really liked. I didn't want Rapunzel with long blonde hair or short brunette hair.

I have the Disney Animator's Collection Rapunzel from the Disney store. I think she's so much more interesting than the 12" doll.

Some of these photos didn't turn out that good. Have no idea why. Maybe bad lighting.

Her dress is nice. I like her cape a lot. I had to have this doll because she has the most amazing head of hair in the entire doll kingdom.

Her face is stunning. Her eyes are very expressive. Her dramatic eye make up really makes her eyes stand out.

She reminds me of Cher.

As you can see, everything is stitched up nicely.

She doesn't look evil at all, does she?

Her legs are just ridiculous. They're rubbery. Her feet sort of flop around.  When any of these Disney 12" dolls have their legs bent their legs spread out wide and it is a ghastly sight, indeed. There is no reason for this. It doesn't make any sense. None of my other dolls have this problem.

I didn't take a picture of the manspreading because I couldn't wait to do this:

So. Much. Better. Now she has a Liv doll body. All of her problems have been solved. Ah...perfection. No more rubber chicken legs and wobbly feet.

Her curly bangs have been pinned to the side.

She looks radiant and beautiful as she waits for her beloved.

With all that hair her head isn't heavy at all. Some of my dolls have so much hair, making they're heads so heavy they constantly fall over and lean back while on a doll stand. Mother Gothel doesn't have that problem.

Does she hear someone approaching?

Her he comes now. She's so happy to see him. (Yeah, I know I'm getting corny.)

It's Hunter Huntsman. Don't worry. He graduated from high school. He's now of age.

Don't they make a nice couple, though? Who knew MG was a MILF. No wonder she goes around kidnapping children with magical hair so she can stay young forever. No gray pubes for MG!

(I know I'm totally out of control with the filters. Sometimes, I can't help myself.)

Too sappy? I'll lighten it up.

More of a modern look yet still sophisticated.

Hunter adores her. How sweet.

Except when she dresses like this. Now she really looks like Cher.

B**** better have my money. Where my money?!

Friends again.

With the new body and her bangs out of her face she is my favorite doll now. If only more play dolls had an expressive, sculptured face like MG.

I'll be taking many more photos of her. For now, I'll let her enjoy her boy toy.

Taeyang Alberic

This doll was released in 11/08 by Jun Planning. I got it on amazon last December for an excellent price.

This is going to be brief. Just a few photos for anyone who's interested in checking him out.

Taeyangs are my favorite boy dolls but they can be crazy expensive so I'll only buy one when its marked way down. Sometimes Amazon has great prices but they fluctuate all the time.

I don't know much about him.  Apparently, he's some type of royalty.

As usual, with all Taeyangs their clothes are couture quality and well made.

I couldn't get his shoes on no matter what I did so I eventually just gave up. I broke the foot on one of my other Taeyang dolls. I didn't want to break anything on Alberic.

Isn't he pretty?

I love his long hair.

Alberic with Little RiDa. He's wearing One  Direction doll clothes and shoes in this photo. They fit him well.

My Room Dioramas

I made several room dioramas in 1/6 scale for my fashion dolls. It's still a work in progress. I've been working on it for more than six months now.

I try to make as much as I can from stratch because miniature doll stuff is expensive. There are still a few more rooms I want to add; laundry room, child's room and back porch.

Here's are some photos:

The living room is nowhere near done. I want to change the curtains eventually.

This is a Barbie kitchen thing I got from a thrift store. I was inspired by a photo on the internet to turn into this:

Food products and leeks made from paper. Again inspired by a photo I saw on the internet.

Cups and glasses I made for the kitchen.

This is the new fridge. It's still isn't finished. I followed a Korean tutorial on YouTube. It's a lot of work for me because I'm still learning how to do this stuff. The original fridge was kind of pitiful.

Here's Tinkerbell posing with the new fridge. She likes to pose with appliances. :-)

The only bedroom so far. I'll add more at some point. I made the bed way too big for the room but that's ok.

Younger sister is visiting and being a huge pest early in the morning. She woke them up because she's bored and wants someone to talk to. Dexter does not want to get up.

This is the original sewing room. I turned it into a sewing room/office.

What an improvement.

I was going to change the sliding doors but now I'll just leave them.

The whole thing is still under construction. I've had a lot of fun with this project. I didn't have this much fun when I was a kid.

Journey Girls Dana

Journey Girls are a line of 18" dolls made and sold exclusively by ToysRUs.

I bought Dana from a thrift store for $12.99. These dolls are usually priced at $29.99.

According to Wikipedia, "Dana is the only doll with short hair and glasses; she loves animals and is always trying to help at her local shelter."

And: "The top portion of their bodies are made of vinyl and the lower half is made of cloth."

Her box was beat half to death but it had never been opened.

The doll was in good shape, just a little rumpled.

A sweet, cute face and pretty eyes. Her eyes don't close. She has one braid going across the top of her head.

Her jeans are well made. I get tired of dolls in dresses.

A closer look at her shoes.

This is Dana with an Our Generation doll sold at Target. Dana is thinner than American Girl and Our Generation dolls. They can't share clothes or shoes.

Dana is adorable wearing her glasses.

Dana and Yuko, a BFC, Ink doll. Yuko is slimmer than Dana so they can't share clothes, either.

Unless I find a deal I can't refuse I won't be buying any more clothes for Dana. I just have too many different dolls in different sizes. I can't buy clothes for all of them. I don't know if I'll ever have the time to make clothes for her, either.

She's a very good alternative to American Girl dolls. I feel that AG dolls are for the monied set. There are plenty of excellent and less expensive alternatives. But I know that even little kids can be materialistic.

I wasn't dying to have a Journey Girl. I wouldn't have paid the regular price for one. I never see them on sale at TRU.

I'm glad I have Dana. She's cute and she was the right price. Actually, I have so many dolls I might give her away as a present to a little girl who needs a doll.
